Biographical Info

Hi! I’m Jennifer Klegstad. I was born and raised in Kittson County and graduated from Tri-County in 1988. I earned my degree from Moorhead State University in Elementary Education and Special Education (Learning Disabilities).

I have been teaching special education at the middle and high school levels for over 31 years. I have taught at Franklin Middle School in Thief River Falls and Lancaster High School, and I have been fortunate to teach at Tri-County since 2006.

I love being part of Tri-County. The students and staff make it a great place to work, and I feel lucky to be teaching in the community I call home. My goal is to help students build the confidence and skills they need to be successful—in school and beyond. Besides teaching, I am the Yearbook Advisor and Assistant One-Act Play Director, which are both a lot of fun and give me a chance to work with students outside of the classroom. And I have to admit, one of my favorite events of the entire school year is the Homecoming Lip Sync Contest!

The Yearbook Club creates our school’s 80-page full-color yearbook, delivered during the first week of September. Students work together on photography, page design, writing, and capturing memories from the school year. We’re always looking for new members who want to help create something lasting for our school community!
